“boo-tiful dress”

My daughter could not say “beautiful,” it came out “boot-ful” and she called this her boot-ful dress. When she out grew the dress in length I extended the wear-time of this dress by cutting and adding an insert, and then again later by adding the lace.

I was so proud of that insert. I had just bought my first fancy sewing machine. It was  a dark blue Viking 990. The decorative stitches were on cards that you inserted into the front of the machine. It was Vikings first programmable machine with the Programming buttons, and funny thing is that still Vikings basic set up for it’s top of line sewing machines for programming stitches and combinations today.
