Saturday Pincushion Class

I was excited to teach this class. It was a new class and project for me to teach and it was fabulous! I can not wait to teach this again as I have added a few extra ideas…

Basically it is a recycled can and we embellish over and around it to create this functional Pincushion!

The fun thing about this class is that you could try different techniques. We used fancy decorative stitches, bobbin-work, couching, programmed stitches and double run stitches. How ever you wanted to embellish your fabric was up to you. The cool thing is that ever one ended up with different style and colors of pincushions with a lot of sharing and swapping of fabric charms!

We had a great day in a small room with twelve ladies, 2 to a table crammed, and a lot of laughing! What a great way to end SATB 2012!

  1. I love this! I would love to have a pattern for this.

  2. What a fun class with such a useful, pretty project. Most pincushions are too small to hold all the machine needles, hand sewing needles, quilting pins, glass head pins, safety pins, etc. that I like to keep next to each machine. This Amazon beauty looks like she could do the job!

  3. Great class! Fun, useful project! Terri is so creative! Thanks.

  4. What a great use of scraps! Love them all…especially the blue & yellow one. Wish I could take one of your classes…
